Workshop Description 

 

Pastels Inside or Out

 

Spend the day experiencing a variety of exercises and methods that will help to reinforce the fundamentals of working with pastels. Weather permitting we will work en plein air overlooking the beautiful Linwood landscape. If there is rain, we will work indoors from an interior setting. In the morning we will focus on strategies for successful beginnings through understanding values and composition. In the afternoon we will turn our attention to the use of color and color mixing.  The class will run from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Cost: $75. Weather permitting, Kathryn will extend the class for early evening plein air painting. 5:00 p.m. - 8 p.m. for an additional charge of $25.

Bio:

Kathryn Bevier is very active in the arts community through her membership with Rochester Art Club, Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters, Mill Art Center and Gallery and her studio of 8 years at Anderson Alley.  She works at RIT in extended studies where she teaches pastels and at Rochester Art Supply. Kathryn earned her BFA at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts.
